Having fun at the Dinner Dance

Northbrook Congregation Ezra Habonim is a friendly synagogue that serves a wide range of religious, educational, and social needs. Rabbi Peter Mehler, spiritual leader of NCEH, is a warm, outstanding, personable rabbi to whom you can turn for all your needs. Our devoted Cantor Larry Elsberg, with his beautiful voice, is committed to bringing a meaningful experience to all of us.

As your new Membership Vice President, I look forward to an exciting year for the Synagogue. Friday Night Family Dinners are now being planned for the coming year.
With the singing of L'cha Dodi and other familiar Shabbat melodies, our Kabballat Shabbat service is a wonderful way to start Shabbat and is followed by our special gourmet dinners.

Attending these reasonably priced dinners is a great way to enjoy Shabbat and get to know one another. On Shabbat morning, we always have a large, friendly group with whom to share the warmth of Shabbat. Visitors are always welcomed by the Rabbi and made to feel at home.

Shabbat wouldn't be complete without the delicious lunch provided by our Sisterhood. Check out our monthly Tot Shabbat programs directed under the auspices of Sue Nadler. Northbrook Congregation Ezra Habonim offers an innovative Hebrew language program for children. Shoshana Axler, our dedicated and enthusiastic Religious School director has some new and exciting programs for children from pre-school up through high school age. We also offer a variety of adult education classes as well as social action activities. NCEH offers evening minyans on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. We also have Sunday morning services with a delicious breakfast. Our Sisterhood sets up many of our social programs and regularly sponsors book club reviews. Our Gift Shop offers a variety of unique items for holidays, Bar and Bat Mitzvahs, and for all your other gift-giving needs as well. We can also personalize your gift to make it even more special.

NCEH has a Membership package to fit everyone's needs, and no one is ever turned away due to financial concerns. Memberships are available for families, singles, and senior citizens. While all are welcome to participate in Synagogue events throughout the year, by affiliating, you gain that sense of belonging to the larger Jewish community. On behalf of my family, I wish you and your family a Shanah Tovah and hope to see you soon at Northbrook Congregation Ezra Habonim. Please do not hesitate to contact me regarding any Membership questions. You can contact me, Earl Sternfeld, through the Synagogue office or directly at rxman4@comcast.net. NCEH is the little synagogue with a lot to offer. For more information, call the NCEH office at 847-480-1690, or e-mail rabbi@nceh.org.
